Drinking less alcohol in 2027 and Dry January: a log of drinks
Davka is an iPhone and Android app for logging supplements and vitamins by part of the day, plus water and caffeine, with widgets and PDF reports. Next to supplements, water and caffeine it can also log the number of alcoholic drinks, which you turn on in Settings.
This page is for a resolution to drink less alcohol and for Dry January. Davka does not rate alcohol and does not count it in streaks; it only logs the number of drinks so you can see how many there were. It gives no advice on how much to drink.
What you log
In Settings, under More records, you turn on the count of alcoholic drinks and log it next to supplements, water and caffeine. The overview is by day and by week. If you do not turn the count on, you do not see it in the app.
What the app says about a fall
The only thing the app says about it is a short praise in Insights and in the PDF report when the number of drinks falls against the previous period, for example “Great! You drank less alcohol compared with last week.” At the same or a higher number it says nothing.
Dry January and Suchej únor
Dry January® is a campaign run by the UK charity Alcohol Change UK, which calls its site the official website for the challenge: one month alcohol-free. Davka is not connected to the campaign and does not run it; it only logs the number of drinks you enter.
The Czech campaign Suchej únor is run by the organization of the same name; people register on suchejunor.cz.
Where Davka is weaker
Today it cannot share records with other people. It gives no advice on how much to drink.
